The World Arts and Cultures Undergraduate Society is proud to present the
second annual performance of WAC SMASH! The production is a full-scale
two-hour theatrical presentation of the work of sixteen Undergraduate
Choreographers in the World Arts and Cultures program at UCLA. The works
being presented incorporate a wide array of dance forms including Flamenco,
Brazilian Samba, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern and West African. WAC SMASH!
showcases the impressive abilities of more than seventy dancers from the
UCLA community. WAC SMASH! is the sole annual presentation of the
choreography of the Undergraduate Students in World Arts and Cultures in a
formal proscenium theater space. These self-directed scholars and dance
artists are pleased at the opportunity to present their cutting-edge
intercultural and multifaceted works. The event is funded by the Campus
Programs Committee of the Program Activities Board, the USA Programming Fund
and the Associated Student UCLA Student Interaction Fund, with additional
support from the World Arts and Cultures Department.
